About "Yazılım Maratonu '18"
Concept
Yazılım Maratonu brings together talented young people who can develop algorithms and solve problems with big companies in the industry. During the two day contest, questions will be asked, workshops, training and seminars will take place. ituym@ituieee.com

Content
Activities that will take place during the final- The 25 finalist teams will come to ITU Ayazağa Campus on the event day and the marathon will start. Points will be collected from the answers given to the questions to be asked in the total 2 day event and sorted according to the scores of the teams.
- 25 finalists will be able to participate in the workshops and training activities to be realized by the leading companies in the sector. Anyone who joins these events, will get chances to win lotteries. The lotteries will take place just after the contest prizes are distributed.
- We will provide accommodation for finalists from out of town. We will have food service for all finalists. The finalists meet the transportation costs themselves.
- You can chat with the officials from the sponsoring companies during the marathon and between sessions to enjoy their experience. You can meet and network with participants from other universities.

Latest news about the marathonFrequently Asked Question
1.Can I apply for the marathon?
You can apply to the marathon if you are a student in a university regardless of your major. (Associate and PhD Students are very much welcome to apply)
2.How many people can I apply with ?
You can compete yourself or with your team. (A team of 2 or 3 members) It is always adviced to attend with a team of 3 to make your chance higher to win. It is not possible to apply with more than 3 competitors.
3.Which languages are going to be used to answer the questions ?
Your goal is to write a program that solves the problem to find the correct outputs for given inputs. Teams are going to be able to use C, C++ , C#, Java, Python2, Python3, Haskell languages. You can always answer different questions with different languages.
4.How will the qualifying round be?
A link will be sent to teams on 10th of February if they were successfully applied until 9th of February 23.59 through an e-mail. Teams are going to login to their accounts via the information they were given. Qualifying Round will take 48 hours and the first 25 teams will be announced as Finalists.
5.What is waiting for us on Final days?
After the opening, the YM'17 starts at 10 a.m. and ends at 8 p.m. after various events like workshops and instructions. Then we will go to a restaurant for dinner. A similar schedule will apply for 2nd day too. With a little addition. We will announce our lucky competitors for their surprise gifts and our winners for their prizes. After the ceremony, the marathon ends.
6.We are coming from another city/country. What expenses are you going to cover for us ?
We are going to cover for your accommodation for 2 nights. Breakfast and lunch will be served on both days without any cost. We will not be covering your transportation in Istanbul. But we will be asking for your universities to cover your transportation to come from other cities/countries. Detailed information will be sent as an e-mail to the qualifiers for the final.
7.Can I team up with students from other universities?
Yes, you can. We ask for you to fill the related fields carefully in the registration form.
